my headcover

Because I am a WOMAN, my headcover is my DECORATION.

Because I am a QUEEN, my headcover is my CROWN.

Because I am the MOON, my headcover is my HALO.

Because I am REGAL, my headcover is my             ROYAL ROBE.

Because I am my HUSBAND’S HEAVEN, my     headcover is my WEDDING VEIL.

Because I am the NURTURER, my head-cover is my baby’s SECURITY BLANKET.

Because I am my CHILD’S FIRST TEACHER, my head-cover is my CAP AND GOWN.

Because I am the HOMEMAKER, my head-cover is my APRON.

Because I am ALL THESE THINGS AND MUCH MORE,

my head-cover is A REMINDER OF MY PURPOSE AND WHAT I STRIVE FOR.

God Can Do It and So Can You!

When my two older sons were younger, they were fascinated with physical stunts, typical for little boys, like backflips and high jumps. In our many conversations about God, who He is and what He can do, my sons would often ask me, "Mom can God do a backflip?"  This poem is an attempt to answer this question and to help black children see the little Gods they are and to see the Big God within.

These are not my children in the image below (LOL!!!) just a boy and girl who represents all of our beautiful black children!

God can do IT

and SO CAN YOU!

God can run fast.

God can run far.

God can fly a rocket all the way to the furthest star.

God can sing.

God can dance.

God can even design and sew the coolest pair of pants.

God is awesome.

God is hip.

God can even do a double-handed backflip.

God can create.

God can build.

God can make a fast car out of mighty steel.

God is smart.

God is love.

God gives His best in everything He does.

If humans can do these things and we are made in God’s image and likeness, then of course God can do the same and much mod. Because of this, He has given you the ability to accomplish anything you want to explore.
